The Redskins announced Sunday night that Robert Griffin III's knee is "clear," though he does have a knee sprain (which means he has minor ligament damage). Considering he doesn't have a torn ACL or MCL, this is great news for Washington fans.

Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III has been worth everything it cost the Redskins to trade up to take him in April's draft. He's among the league leaders in completion percentage, he's also one of its most dynamic runners, and he gives fans something they haven't had in a very long time: hope.

And on Sunday, it was his legs that got him in trouble (again). During a late fourth-quarter drive, RG3 dropped back to pass, didn't find anybody open, and does what he's done countless times before: took off running. Except this time, Ravens defensive lineman Haloti Ngata -- all 340 pounds of him -- caught Griffin flush with a big hit. The force of the collision caused the quarterback's right leg to whip violently as he went to the ground.
